Our Core Commitment: Your home is your private sanctuary, and the digital record of your home deserves the same protection. VYDAL Home Inc. ("VYDAL," "we," "our," or "us"), a corporation organized under the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, operates on a strict Data Sanctuary principle: we never sell, rent, monetize, or broker your personal data, home inventory, equipment specifications, or maintenance history to third-party advertisers, lead-generation aggregators, or data brokers.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only the minimum information required to organize your home care schedule, deliver localized weather alerts, and maintain your tamper-evident Home Record:

  • Account Credentials: If you choose to create an account or upgrade from a guest session, we collect your email address for passwordless 6-digit verification codes. We never request or store passwords.
  • Home Profile & Location Context: Your street address, home nickname, build year, approximate square footage, heating/cooling fuel type, and regional climate attributes used to match your home with climate norms and severe weather alerts.
  • Equipment & Maintenance Records: Appliance brands, model numbers, serial numbers, installation dates, warranty notes, completed task logs, and optional completion proof photos you attach to your Home Record.
  • Diagnostic & Troubleshooting Context: If you photograph equipment symptoms or request diagnostic assistance, we process the photo and error details you choose to share.

2. Camera, Photos & On-Device OCR Processing

When you scan an appliance rating plate or serial sticker using VYDAL, optical character recognition (OCR) runs directly on your device using Apple Vision or Google ML Kit. Raw camera viewfinder frames used for text recognition are processed locally and are never transmitted to third-party AI training APIs.

Diagnostic cloud analysis is optional and separate from label scanning. When you explicitly request diagnostic assistance, your photo and equipment details are transmitted to OpenAI under strict enterprise zero-data-retention API terms. Temporary diagnostic image uploads are automatically queued for deletion within 24 hours. Photos are retained only if you explicitly choose to save the observation to your equipment record.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To build and update your home maintenance schedule based on your climate zone, build era, and installed equipment.
  • To monitor National Weather Service (NWS) and Open-Meteo forecasts for your area and trigger preventive weather checklists before freezes, storms, or extreme heat arrive.
  • To generate verifiable, downloadable PDF Home Record reports and scoped work order briefs when you request them.
  • To synchronize tasks and records across household members or service pros whom you explicitly invite via a 7-day invite code.

4. Infrastructure & Third-Party Sub-Processors

We rely on a minimal set of vetted cloud infrastructure providers bound by strict confidentiality and data protection agreements:

  • Supabase Inc. (PostgreSQL Database & Encrypted Vault): Cloud database hosting in AWS us-east-1 with AES-256 encryption at rest, TLS 1.3 in transit, and Row-Level Security (RLS) ensuring strict multi-tenant isolation.
  • OneSignal Inc.: Delivers optional push notifications for urgent weather alerts and overdue maintenance reminders using anonymous device tokens.
  • Resend Inc.: Delivers transactional passwordless 6-digit sign-in codes to your email.
  • National Weather Service (NOAA) & Open-Meteo GmbH: Provides regional weather forecasts and severe weather alerts using rounded geographic coordinates without personal identifiers.
  • RentCast API: Provides public property records (build year, square footage, fuel type) to streamline onboarding; cached locally.
  • Geoapify & Photon / OpenStreetMap: Provides standardized address geocoding and coordinates.
  • OpenAI LLC (Assisted Diagnostics): When you use interactive troubleshooting, symptom descriptions are processed via API with zero model training retention; temporary uploads are purged in 24 hours.
  • Functional Software Inc. d/b/a Sentry: Zero-PII application crash reports and stack traces to fix software defects.

We never permit third-party advertising SDKs, tracking pixels, or data brokers within our applications.

5. Universal Rights, Export & Permanent Deletion (Apple & GDPR Compliant)

You own your home record. You can export your complete Home Record as a PDF at any time from the VYDAL app.

In accordance with Apple App Store Guideline 5.1, Google Play Developer Policies, and global privacy statutes, you possess an unconditional right to permanently delete your data:

  • Instant In-App Deletion: Open the VYDAL app, go to Settings → Delete All Home Data (or Settings → Account Security & Upgrades), and confirm deletion. This immediately purges your homes, equipment records, task history, and uploaded photos from our active database.
  • Web / Email Deletion Request: You may also request full account and data deletion by emailing support@vydalhome.com with the subject line "Delete My Account." We process all verified deletion requests within 7 business days.
